Chris Lord - Vocals

Emotional, Powerful, Raunchy but always Bluesy; often likened to top Blues artistes Dana Gillespie or Angela Brown, Chris started her singing career performing at first with soul and rock bands.  Word got around and she soon found herself supporting bands such as Connie Lush & Blues Shouter, Big Boy Bloater, and Memo Gonzalez and The Bluescasters

Chris has also shared the stage with Paul Cox; Rollo Marquee and the Tailshakers and Tim Aves among many others.

She found her way home to the Blues when she joined the Dr Shades Blues Band in 2008 and has gone on to develop her distinctive, jazz/blues style.  Chris fronts her band, The Blues Express delivering often cheeky, sometimes rude lyrics with a definite feminine twist.

Whatever the song though, Chris possesses a natural and beautiful voice.  She has great range, from rude blues to blues ballads, and always delivers a performance of class, emotion and simple joy.

Her influences include strong female vocalists such as Connie Lush; Etta James; Nina Simone and Ella Fitzgerald to name just a few.
